Loveland City School District is proud to offer a robust wireless internet connection to all of our staff, students and visitors while in any school or building on our campus. Providing the necessary density coverage to service thousands of student and staff electronic devices, our wireless network is set up through the following Wi-Fi SSID (service set identifier) structure:
- LCSD_Tiger - This network is available to all Loveland City School District owned devices, student and staff. This includes student and teacher Chromebooks, tablets and laptops provided by the district. The 63 character password is kept private and is distributed to all district machines.
- LCSD_StudentBYOD - This network is available to all student “bring your own” registered learning devices (excluding student phones) at LMS and LHS. The password will be made available to all students, but only those registered devices will be able to connect as we will register all student learning via the device’s MAC address. For more information on the registration process, please visit http://sites.google.com/a/lovelandschools.org/tiger-tech- den/courses/requirements.
- LCSD_Private - This network is available to teachers, staff and presenters for a variety of reasons, including wireless mirroring, staff personal devices and presenters needing access to a robust connection. The private password will be known among faculty and staff, but will be changed routinely to keep clear of any unnecessary traffic.
- LCSD_Public - This network is available to all visitors and students to access on their personal device while visiting any building or school on our campus. The bandwidth allocated to this network will be limited, as bandwidth priority will be provided to student learning machines connected to the above networks.
When connecting to the Internet at Loveland City Schools, you are agreeing to abide by the Loveland Schools Acceptable Use Policy which prohibits abusive or illegal activity while using the Internet. Personal devices connecting to the district’s wireless network is subject to the same filtering that is enforced during the school day on all student and staff devices while on our network. Please note that any personal student device that can access a cellular network data plan (ie. - 4G plans) is able to bypass the Internet filter provided by the school’s service.
Please direct any additional questions or concerns regarding the Loveland City School District’s wireless internet connection to John Lape, IT Systems Administrator at [email protected]
