The Loveland City School District has announced the hiring of Bradley Neavin to serve as Interim Superintendent of the district.
“I have many connections here and know this is a great community, a community that rightfully deserves educational excellence,” Neavin said. He shared his excitement to serve the students of Loveland and support the District Team. “My primary focus will be to listen and engage with as many stakeholders as possible; individually, in small groups, and through the District Planning Commission to better inform the Board on how to best address our students’ needs,” Neavin said.
Neavin most recently served as Superintendent of Vandalia-Butler City Schools from 2013-2017. From 2007-2013 he served as Superintendent of Eaton Community Schools. Neavin spent 32 years in education as a superintendent, principal, assistant principal, and band director before retiring in 2017.
“We are anticipating working with Interim Superintendent Neavin and believe strongly that he will help Loveland Schools as we move forward,” Board President Dr. Kathryn Lorenz said. She thanked the entire district staff for their support during this transitional period. “All of us - and especially our students - will benefit from Mr. Neavin’s strong commitment and enthusiasm,” said Lorenz.
In December, Superintendent Dr. Amy Crouse announced her decision to leave the district. The hiring of Neavin will allow the Board to focus on finding a permanent replacement.
“We have started the process to recruit Loveland’s Superintendent with a firm commitment to transparency and community engagement at every critical step along the way,” said Board Vice President Kevin Dougherty. Dougherty said one of the most important roles of the Board is to determine the top leadership of the District. “We expect to share more information on this in the very near future now that the Board has determined interim leadership by appointing Mr. Neavin,” Dougherty said.
The Board is committed to gathering community input as it conducts a search for the next Superintendent to help lead Loveland City School District.
